All of us may be heard about barangay officials and barangay council or Sangguniang Barangay in our place especially because we are all members in the Barangay. May be we used this words but we did not know what it mean because, did you know that this two words are not the same? I will tell you why, because when we talk about barangay officials it is composed of 11 individuals stated in the book Barangay primer second edition page 11 while the barangay council or sangguniang barangay is only compose of 8 individuals stated also in the same book page 42.
The composition of barangay officials are:
- (1) An elective Punong Barangay
- (7) Elected barangay Kagawads
- (1) Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman
- (1) Barangay Secretary
- (1) Barangay Treasurer
- (1) Punong Barangay
- (7) Elected Barangay Kagawads
- (1) Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman
